These Little Potato Bratwurst Skewers are a game-day winner—whether you’re tailgating with friends or hosting a family game night at home. With hearty bratwurst, tender potatoes, and colorful peppers all grilled on skewers, they’re fun to eat and easy to prep ahead. Short on time? Use pre-cooked bratwurst, pre-cut veggies, and the ready-to-cook potatoes to save steps without losing flavor. If you don’t have a steamer basket at home or want to make steaming potatoes in the microwave even easier, use our Microwave Ready Little Potatoes.
Notes:
If using bamboo skewers, soak in water for 20 minutes beforehand to help prevent charring.
Serve 1 kebab as an appetizer or 2 kebabs as a main dish.
On-the-Go Tips (Tailgating & Beyond)
-
Tailgate ready: Prep skewers ahead of time, store in a covered container, and grill once you arrive at the game.
-
Portable portions: Slide cooked skewers into foil packets to keep them warm—perfect for eating on the go or passing around the crowd.
-
Family game night: Keep things simple by serving skewers right off the grill with dipping sauces in little bowls, so everyone can grab and go during halftime.
Kid-Friendly Tips & Involvement
-
Milder swaps: Use chicken sausage or turkey sausage in place of bratwurst for a lighter, kid-friendly flavor.
-
Get kids involved: Little chefs can help thread veggies and potatoes onto skewers (with supervision), or pick which dipping sauces to serve.
-
Fun factor: Cut sausages and veggies into smaller bites to make mini skewers just right for little hands.
