What You’ll Need

  • Printer
  • The Valentine’s Little Connections Cards (PDF)
  • Scissors or a paper trimmer
  • Optional: cardstock for durability, a small bowl/jar or place-card holders, markers or pens to add names or your own prompts

How to Play

  1. Print, cut, and shuffle the cards. Place them in a bowl at the center of the table or set one at each place setting.
  2. Take turns drawing a card and answering. Encourage follow-ups like “why?” or “tell me more,” and invite little ones to go first. Sample prompts include: “What’s one thing you love most about our family?”, “What makes you feel loved at home?”, “What’s your favorite way to show someone you care?”
  3. Try quick variants:
    • Gratitude Round: each person answers one card before the first bite.
    • Pass & Pick: pass the bowl; you may swap once if a prompt doesn’t fit.
    • Compliment Chain: after answering, give a quick compliment to the person on your left.
    • Road-Trip Stack: keep a mini pile in the car for screen-free travel chats.
  4. Save favorite prompts in a jar to revisit at dessert—or again next year.
