PRIMARY FOCUS:
In this exciting role, the Warehouse Shipper is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of product within the warehouse and trucks.
The Warehouse Shipper will report to the Shipping Supervisor and will be based in our Edmonton Office on the morning shift (first shift).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform tasks in multi-temperature environments.
- Adhere to shipping and receiving policies/procedures, and regulatory compliance procedures
- Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment.
- Daily update of cooler map, inventory count, report, and reconcile of finished product in coolers within NAV.
- Organization and housekeeping of coolers. Maintain order and rotation of aged inventory and partial pallets.
- Relocates packaged potatoes on pallets from the packaging area to the storage coolers immediately, or directly to the shipping area if required.
- Proper placement of stock in the cooler, picking and packaging and shipment of transfers and customer orders.
- Follows instruction from the Shipping Supervisor who will determine the priority of orders.
- Ensure fast and accurate load & offload of trucks and receiving to minimize wait times and product temperature abuse.
- Assemble orders based on the information from the picking slips posted in the shipping office.
- Pack, seal, and label materials to prepare for shipping and ensure allocation of tags.
- Perform final product inspection prior to shipping of finished goods.
- Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and/or standards and complete appropriate documentation as required.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
- Record shipment data for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
- Maintain cleanliness within the shipping and receiving area.
- Provide on the job training to new/junior staff.
- Communicate any shipping issues to Shipping Supervisor and Supply Chain.
- Other duties as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of grade 10.
- Forklift ticket and experience required.
- An aptitude for working with numbers and detailed paperwork.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office products.
- Basic English language skills.
- Be physically fit to lift up to 50lbs of goods repeatedly.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Can work under minimal supervision and in a team setting.
- Effective communication skills.
