Easy recipes for Thanksgiving & the holidays

Easy recipes for Thanksgiving & the holidays

Happy Thanksgiving to our American customers!

It’s the official kick-off to the holiday season and all that entails—gourmet dinners, cookie baking, carols, charity and spending time with family and friends. Being thankful is a universal theme and Americans cherish the tradition of gathering around the table for the stuffed turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Just loosen the belt a notch and enjoy.

That being said, Thanksgiving is an important dinner and there’s a great deal to prepare. You’ve likely got enough on your plate so to speak, so here are some delicious no-muss, no-fuss Little Potato recipes that are festive and save time. Translation: more time for relaxing by the fire and having quality time with those you are thankful for!

Get started

Bite-sized One-Bite Baked Potato Rounds, will look elegant on your party table. Bake and garnish with your favourite toppings: sour cream, bacon, cheddar cheese and garnished with fresh chives.

Mashed potatoes

Light Mashed Potatoes with Kale and Goat Cheese dress up this traditional dish and add visual appeal. It’s the caramelized shallots that make the difference. Prepare ahead and re-heat the night-of. Easy!

Now you might not be thinking of using the microwave on Thanksgiving, but microwave cooking means your Creamers are ready in five minutes—and no one will know the difference. Because microwaving steams food from the inside out, it actually does a much better job preserving Vitamin C and other nutrients, according to Harvard Medical School. Plus, it yields extra soft and buttery tasting Little Potatoes.

Put pre-washed, no-peel Little Potatoes into a microwave-safe bowl, cover with water and cook on high for five minutes. Then drain, and toss with butter or olive oil and your choice of seasonings. Even easier: our Microwave Ready Creamers with Mediterranean Garlic Parsley or Savory Herb mixes.

Easy appetizers

If you have guests arriving early, here are some simple appetizers to keep them happy:

* Cut Creamers—red and yellow Dynamic Duo or Terrific Trio (blue, yellow and red)—into quarters, prepare as above, add toothpicks and serve warm. Arrange on a white platter to show off the colors and garnish with fresh herbs. Pair with a Spanish Garnacha-Syrah blend or New World Pinot Noir.

* Spice up your chips and dip appetizer with the Spicy Natch Potato Bites! This healthy appetizer is packed with flavor and you can amp up the spice level to make it as hot as you like it!

* Add some zip to your feast with Horseradish Cream Dip, the perfect foil to your microwaved Little Potato side dish or starter.

Wishing you and yours the best this Thanksgiving and Holiday season from your family at The Little Potato Company!
