We are currently seeking an experienced individual for the position of Continuous Improvement Supervisor.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for initiating and implementing continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant. This position will collaborate with Operations team leaders to assess activities throughout the department to determine opportunities for process change resulting in improved efficiency and cost reductions.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Improve plant performance through establishing a lean culture.
- Working with Plant Manager, develop strategic plans for process improvements that will impact productivity, efficiencies and cost.
- Analyze manufacturing processes from beginning (point of entry) through to shipment of product
- Work on identifying weaknesses/areas of improvement within the production and quality systems.
- Manage the process that identifies and implements significant Continuous Improvement Opportunities to support corporate objectives.
- Develop and implement systems and best practices to track and ensure sustainability of lean culture.
- Determine Key Performance Indicators to be tracked to determine effectiveness of process improvements.
- Create communication plan to ensure consistent messaging of new practices and policies.
- Coordinate and manage continuous improvement programs, establishing and maintaining high quality assurance standards, procedures and controls.
- Provide guidance and technical knowledge on process and continuous improvement objectives outside Operations group.
- Act as Plant Supervisor when required, which includes leading a team of employees to maximize work flow and minimize errors, meet quality and production targets, maintain positive employee relations, and ensure health and safety standards are met.
Qualifications:
- 3 years related experience, including experience supervising a diverse workforce. Experience in perishable foods an asset.
- Training in Continuous Improvement practices (eg. Six Sigma)
- Strong Communication skills.
- Strong people and process management skills.
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to build relationships both internally and externally across organizational boundaries.
